It's ok just not great. Food was hot, could of been more. Ok for a brains pub but no match for weatherspoons or local pubs. Beer is reasonable and outside area is lovely on the sun. Staff seem friendly. Kids are welcome. It's like a lets go there for a drink but not a lets go there for a nice meal place if that makes sense.
Food was ok for the money. 3 of us went. 1 really enjoyed their meal and other 2 meals were a little over cooked for our liking and our deserts didn't turn up at all in the 2 course dinner. We should have chased it so maybe a little fault on our part but we were so busy talking the time went and we hadn't realised.When we told the staff they gave us a discount which did make us feel a little better. We had heard good things about the food from others so maybe we were a bit unlucky tonight. Staff were nice and it's a nice pub inside.
Excellent meal again at the Darran celebrating Christmas with family. Great roast dinner! Fantastic value. Ideal setting for small or large groups. Will be back. Friendly staff, very helpful.
The beer, Reverend James, was excellent and the food was tasty. Meal booked for 1pm. Starters were slow to come as was the main meal which arrived at 2pm. 40minutes later the desert arrived. The Beef was very tough but tasted OK. The Yorkshire pudding could have been used to build homes in earthquake areas as I'm certain it would survive any main or aftershocks without damage. My knife wouldn't even scratch the surface. We had the Christmas meal booked which consisted of 3 courses, no coffee. You are only given 1 knife and fork for the first two courses so either use your serviette to clean the cutlery between courses or be prepared to pinch items from other tables without others noticing. The staff were very polite.
Sunday lunch for three. Excellent food, hot and well presented. A very reasonable price and we will definitely return soon. Very welcoming and helpful staff.
